A FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT MAKING A DIFFERENCE

On Wednesday 10th October, World Mental Health day, our football projects hosted their first joint tournament.

The day was a huge success, we have received lots of positive feedback.

It was great to see so many people having a great time on a beautiful sunny day. Everyone involved played with great sportsmanship with one referee saying,

‘the attitudes on the day were admirable.'

A total of 15 teams participated, that's approximately 120 people playing and having fun which is a massive increase from the 6 teams that played last year!

Our teams, The Welcome Wizards and Real Elnbridge Eagles did a fantastic job at representing the great work we do. It is incredible watching the guys grow in confidence when on the pitch. The Real Elmbridge Eagles even won their first trophy by winning the Plate which is a fantastic achievement - well done.

We are super proud to all involved in making this day a great success. We are grateful to our funders Community Foundation for Surrey and Walton Charity for making it possible and a special mention to Victor, out volunteer football coach for all your hard work and commitment.

We are planning on holding the same event event next year on World Mental Health day again, so please put Thursday 10th October 2019 in your diaries if you wish to attend - further information will come out in Spring next year.
